My deepest condolences to the family of Greg, Greg worked with me during his undergrad years as salesman, later was so proud of him when he became a successful Dentist, over last 35 years whenever we spoke he was always kind and respectful. During my visit to MicMac Mall today when I did not see his name on MMD directory board, I googled his name to see where he may have moved to, I was shocked to see his obituary there, I have been in shocked ever since. Once again please accept my deepest condolences. Gid Bless!

Dr. Hiltz was the only dentist our family had been going to him for over two decades. His patience and kindness were so appreciated. Despite being incredibly busy because he was such a popular dentist (for good reason), he always gave you his full attention and would take the time needed to help in any way needed.
He always let me use the children's foam fluoride way into my adult years. He treated everyone with kindness and had a contagious smile and positivity.
Thinking and praying for his family who he spoke of with pride, and his colleagues.

oh my i just heard about Greg's passing last night from my cousin who knew Greg via their children and i his patient from when he took the practice over from Dr. Hupman. We chatted about how nice and friendly he was always seen with a smile; yet we didnt imagine the help or sorrow Greg must have been enduring.... such a loss for everyone and wishing we talked more as men about what's going on in one another's lives.
Greg was always social and interested in my life also not shy to share his hobbies and his long term jeep project :) I have been blessed to have had Greg as my dentist and will certainly miss our conversations of adventure and innovation. Wishing my most heartbroken love to all the MMD staff and certainly his family. Greg, you were certainly a man of many talents and may that shine in heaven as you look down to protect us all. Love Dana

I just recently heard of Greg's passing and was stunned at the news.
I remember meeting Greg in high school math class where I sat across from him.
I would bump into him every so often over the years and would see him at his practice where my children were his patients.
He was always a pleasure to talk with.
He will be missed by my family and we send our condolences to his family and friends.

I was extremely shocked and saddened to learn of Dr Hiltz’s passing. My deepest and most sincere condolences to both his families (Mic Mac Dental and his children, parents, brother and other bio-family members). I truly can not think of the words to describe how much I thought of, admired and appreciated Dr Hiltz. He always took time to have a chat and I was always impressed that he remembered little details about what we’d talked about at previous appointments. He was a brilliant individual, not just in an academic or knowledgeable way, but in a deeper way. He exuded warmth, genuine care and concern. He had an infectious smile, an easy and calming demeanor. While I am absolutely heartbroken this incredible being is no longer with us, I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to meet him and consider myself blessed for having that honor.

I was shocked and sadden to hear about Greg's passing. Greg and I met in karate class many years ago and given we were about the same size and equally slow, we were paired together and enjoyed joking around which annoyed our instructor frequently. Greg and I graded to black belt at the same time and often joked how badly we looked sparing during the grading. Even after we both drifted away from the sport, I decided to go to Greg when I needed a new dentist as really admired his humour and kind nature. Every visit he would update me on how his family was doing and his latest surfing injury. He was immensely curious and would ask me about my work even as my mouth was packed with dental things. My deepest sympathies to his family and colleagues.

My sincere condolences to the Hiltz family.
I went to high school with Greg, and continued to cross paths with him over the years, as I had been in the dental supply industry.
One time I told him a mutal friend's son was encountering difficulty getting in to the dentistry program, and he offered to mentor him, etc. I later ran into Greg when working at the correctional centre - Greg being the facility dentist. He said to me "I don't know if I am making any difference". And that was Greg - wanting to help others and to make an impact where needed.Truly one of the good guys.
Greg will be sadly missed.

I am completely shocked and saddened to learn of Dr. Hiltz's passing. He was my dentist since the early 90s when he first started working at mic mac dental. I must've been 8 or 9 I'm thinking. Over my life he did a fair amount of work on me and like most kids it can be nerve racking getting dental work done. One thing that will stay with me was he would have conversations with his dental hygienists and carry on with them and looking back I just always found it really calming just listening to them talk and it would take my mind off the fact I was getting a filling in a way. I saw him as recently as July where he fixed a filling that had fallen out. He would always ask about my family. When we would talk about things like dogs he would tell me about his and the research he would do before he got one. He also talked a lot about playing guitar. I sincerely hope these very small examples brought some comfort to whomever reads them. R.I.P. Dr. Hiltz. It was a pleasure growing up with you as my dentist. Condolences to friends family & colleagues.
