Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of James Edward Feeney, 74, of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, who passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2021. Born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, he was the oldest son of the Late Theresa (Vickers) and Edward Feeney. Jim worked for many years in the jewellery business which took him across the country, eventually returning to Nova Scotia with his family where he worked for Neima Brothers and then his own store, KC Jewellery. Prior to his retirement he worked at Forbes Chevrolet in car sales. Jim was very active in the community over the years, volunteering on many committees. He was an avid softball player and umpire. He will be missed by his wife of 52 years Gerry (Singer), his son Sean (Zoe Spencer) and daughter Robyn (Peter Bentley). He was a proud Papa to his grandchildren Morgan Bentley and Jordan Feeney. Jim came from a large family of 4 brothers and 6 sisters, Gerry Lou Norton (Jim), Peggy Cooper (Bruce), Teri, Catherine Delfs (Jim), Mary MacDonald, Ralph (Donna), Robert (Lois), Martha (Danny) and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by brothers Frank, Paul, sister in infancy (Janet), brother-in-law Craig and in-laws Carl and Priscilla Gass. The family would like to express a heart felt thanks to Dr. Jack Sommers and Dr. Peter MacAulay for taking such excellent care of Dad over the years. Celebration of life will be held at St Peter’s Church, 10 Maple Street, Dartmouth on Saturday September 4 @ 11am, with Father James Mallon officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
