Obituary of Glenn Joseph Bonner

Glenn Joseph Bonner, 56 Glace Bay It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn Bonner.Glennpassed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the young age of 56, surrounded by his lovingfamily at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, Glenn was the son of the late Buddy and Shirley (Macintyre) Bonner. Glenn is survived by his talented son Aaron Bonner, loving wife Hilda McNeil, stepchildren Walter Young, Rita Young (James Gilliam) and his pride and joy, granddaughters; Abi and Mila. Surviving Glenn are his brothers, Nick (Donna), Terrance, and Grady; Sisters, Barbara Jean Ariss and Geraldine Bonner. Besides his parents, Glenn was predeceased by his brother Tommy. Glenn was musically gifted, a talent that he shared with his son Aaron, teaching him toplay the guitar. He also shared his talent with others offering music lessons. Glenn himself started playing the guitar at the early age of eight. He also had a passion for drumming. Glenn not only played, but he also enjoyed the technical side of music, always working the sound board and helping, particularly for his dear friends Jackie and Keith Roach. Most recently, it had been discovered that he was a talented bass player, you would often find him playing at the Radio Club and was always joined by his best friend and playing partner John Sinclair. Glenn was a strong fighter who underwent two Kidney Transplants with numerous years of Dialysis and was always positive through this. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother,grandfather, uncle, and friend, to all who loved him. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses of 3 East, at Glace Bay Hospital. A funeral mass for Glenn will be celebrated on Thursday, August 12 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding, under the care and guidance of T.J.
