Obituary of Diane Gaigneur

Diane Gaigneur Reserve Mines It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of our dear Mom, Diane Gaigneur surrounded by her loving family on August 5,2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Popwell. In her early years, Diane devoted her time to raising her family, then enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She could always be counted on for a cup of tea and a chat, both with family and friends. She enjoyed Sunday drives, spending time at the bungalow with family, working in the yard with her beloved husband Bessie splitting, stacking and delivering wood. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her faithful companion Tiny who was always by her side. Diane is survived by her sons, Kenny “Boo” (Melinda) Gaigneur, Pete (Debbie) Gaigneur, of Glace Bay, estranged, Marcel Gaigneur; two loving grandsons, Robert and Christopher Gaigneur; her brother Bob and sister Betty as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Marcel 'Bessie'; son, David Gaigneur; brothers Leo, Morris, Francis; sisters, Delores and Gloria. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 11 2021 from 12-1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Due to Covid-19, social distancing and masks are mandatory. Special thank you to the home care staff and the staff of Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the wonderful care and support we received.
