Obituary of Diane Roberts

Carol Diane Roberts Marion Bridge It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend Diane Roberts on Friday, July 30, 2021, at home. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Josephine (Smith) Reid. Diane was employed at the Metropolitan in Glace Bay and numerous other kitchens over the years doing what she loved best, cooking and chatting. She loved a nice boat ride on ‘The Mira’, and doing her puzzle books, but her biggest achievement was her family. She was always baking and cooking and loved visitors. Most weekends she could be found with her sisters ‘the girls’ having tea and shopping. Diane is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Terrance ‘Terry’ Roberts; three sons, Rodney (Sherry), Jimmy and Jordan; daughter, Kimberly; four brothers, Brian, Tommy, Jim, and Keith and three sisters, Margie, Anita, and Melissa. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Samantha, Ryan, Terrance, Tyler, Morgan, JD, Roy, Bobby, Shoshawna, Chance, Dawson; three great grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Jace; brother-in-law, Bill and sister-in-law, Gail as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughters, Brenda and Tanya Gail, a set of twins at birth, sisters, Norman and Viola, mother, and father -in-law Terrance and Eva Roberts, brother Edward in infancy as well as a brother-in-law, Bobby. Visitation will be held Friday, August 6, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11: 00 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating, all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). Burial to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, MacLeod’s Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
