Rosalie Gouthro It is with great sadness that we, the family of Rosalie Viola Gouthro, age 70, announce her passing on June 28, 2018. Raised in Gardiner Mines, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Timmons) Brewer. She married her first love John Gordon ‘Gordie’ Gouthro in 1967 and celebrated 50 years last summer. They lived and raised 4 children together in Bridgeport. Rosalie was a very active member of Branch 78 Legion, Dominion and for many years she served catering to weddings, booking bands, running the bar and cleaning. She loved to play darts and cards as well as knitting ,crafts and painting ceramics. She loved spending her summer weekends at their bungalo in Loch Lomand with family and many wonderful friends. In 2010, she suffered a terrible stroke leaving her with paralysis and unable to speak. The end of 2011 she entered the Victoria Haven Nursing Home. There she gained a whole new family who showered her with love and compassion everyday. We are forever grateful to each and everyone of you. Rosalie is survived by her husband Gordie; children, Ramona (Freddie Campbell), Consuello (Jamie Andrews) and Elliott; her special daughter-in-law, Kim Hall Gouthro; her grandchildren Adrian, Sidney, Cody, Kendra, Sarah, Victoria, Kirklind and Lincoln; as well three great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Betty Lou, Brenda, Debbie, Geraldine and Margie, all in Ontario; brothers, Sheldon (Gardiner Mines), Joe, Gerard(Ontario) and Carl(Nova Scotia); many aunts and uncles including her special aunt Theresa McNeil. Besides her parents, Tud and Betty Brewer, she was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Daniel and in infancy her son Adrian Dwayne; her brothers Reggie and Paul (Gardiner Mines), her special uncle Jimmy Brewer. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199 A funeral service will take place 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2018 with Father Norman McPhee in the funeral home chapel.
