Earle; I opened the paper this morning looking for Bud Colp's obituary and found this terrible news that Colleen had passed away.
Please accept my sincere sympathies. There are so many great memories of the times spent skating with Colleen in deep conversations ... but always with some laughter. So many of the world's problems were "solved" in our circle of skating friends-- both at the rinks or the following visits at Tim's. So, perhaps Colleen and Bud are skating on that big ice surface in the sky, just waiting for the rest of us to join them. You and your family, and Colleen will always be in my prayers.

Our deepest condolences to Colleen’s family near and far. I grew up with the MacKinnon Family in Caledonia, Glace Bay. They were a close knit family and her parents always had their door open for anyone which Colleen seems to have followed in her parents footsteps. One thing that comes to mind is: Growing up Colleen always had a smile on her face even helping her brother Joe delivering the CapeBreton Post….RIP Colleen…you are a beautiful Angel up in Heaven with your loved ones.
Thinking of her children and family at this difficult time.

Sorry for your loss, Barrington family. I started school with Earle (hard to believe that will be 40 years ago in September!) here in Sydney River. I remember your mother as a friendly, fun person and fellow red head! My mother and I were saddened to read her obit in the Cape Breton Post this morning. Thinking of you, Marilyn and Jennifer (Campbell) Spencer.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to your dear family. I can say that Mrs. Colleen was one of the sweetest "friend's mom" ever. She always showed my sister and I such love and kindness whenever we were over to hang out! Even if most of the time we were loud, dancing crazy girls!! She never said a mean word or even looked at us funny! She was always a sea of love and encouragement to all of us! I always felt so seen and cared for with her. I can remember her amazing nails and how she loved having them done! And oh my gosh.. that laugh she had!! I can almost hear it even now.. after all these years. I hope God's told her by now how much she touched my heart and my life. Always fond memories of such a beautiful angel on earth now wearing her crown and matching slippers. I know that things are hard and that this loss stings more than one could ever imagine, but I hope you can take a little comfort in knowing that your mom was special to many of us and I know she's so proud of all of you, she loved so well. May God flood you with the happiest of memories and a quiet peace. And then... laugh really hard and love well on each other and know she's there! ❤
