My condolences to Sandy, Natalie, Jody and your families.
Smitty was one of the funniest and friendliest people I ever knew. In later years, I would hear about how much time he spent helping my parents when they added on to their house. Of course, there were the service stories and visits to your home.
Best wishes to all of you.

A sad time for all of Smitty's family & friends.
He was the hardest worker I ever knew and would never give up or quit There was just no "quit" in the man!.
RIP my friend.
I have added the names i remember to the photo. Maybe someone else knows the 2 questionable names for sure.
I think one was Brian ??? and i am not sure of Harold McLean.

To Sandra and family, Debbie and I were devastated to hear of Donnie's passing. I was hoping that we would soon be able to get together again for our lunches with the ex Shearwater group. They were so enjoyable with lots of stories from the guys around the table. Donnie of course was the guy that initiated the get togethers. When I worked for him in the Manpower section at Shearwater, Donnie organized a pub crawl for everyone in the section and then he organized a ski day for all of us at Martock. He was always thinking of ways to team build and lift our morale. He will be deeply missed as he touched so many lives in such a positive way. Our prayers are with you.

I worked with Don at CFB Shearwater in 880 Sqn on the CP-121 Trackers from 1975 - 1980. He was a great technician with a greater sense of humour. When I next returned to 12 Wing Shearwater from 1993 - 2001, I ran into him again. He certainly had risen to the top as CWO at 434 Sqn. Another veteran gone too soon. Donnie will be missed by many who remember him.

I worked for Don when he was the SCWO OF 434 Sqn. An awesome man and a great leader who I'm sure will be sorely missed by all his family. RIP Chief
