Obituary of George H. Sampson

George H. Sampson, 101 Halifax It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of George H Sampson. George passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on June 6, 2021, at the age of 101. He was the son of the late George and Adele (Ransom) Sampson. George was in the Canadian Air Force from 1940-1945, and served in Ontario, the Maritimes and Newfoundland. He also worked for General Electric, Consolidated Supply (Cam Guard) and finished his career with Graybar Canada at the age of 92 after almost 40 years with them, his co-workers hated to see him leave, that is for sure. The word ‘GENTLEMAN’ fit George to a tee, it was made for him. You could not meet him and not like him, he was so pleasant, friendly, kind, loyal, and hardworking. George was full of energy and always wore a smile on his face. George loved to dance at the Fairview Legion on the weekend, where over the years he made many good friends. His personality made it extremely easy for you to talk to, he loved to tell stories and we loved listening to them. George loved people, friends, family, work, and most of all dancing. He will be missed by all who knew him. George is survived by his niece, Karen; grandnephew, Carl; also surviving is his grandnephew Darrin and his children, Kaitlyn, and Sarah. He will also be deeply missed by his dear friend Betty. Besides his parents, George is predeceased by sisters, Ada (in infancy), Mary and Beatrice. A Celebration of Life for George will be held for all who knew him at a potential time when COVID-19 Restrictions are lifted.
