Dear Barb,
I am so very saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. Memories of Tom at Holland Road School are very special. What an amazing man! He was always kind, caring and supportive, a true gentleman in every sense. I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to work with such a wonderful role model, and to enjoy the many fun times as part of the school staff.
My heart aches for you at this time, as I always viewed you as such a beautiful couple, enjoying so much together. Your many fond memories will help you through this very, very difficult time. And together with Lynsey, the sun will eventually shine for you again as your memories bring comfort.to you both.
Take good care of your wonderful self, Barb, and know that you are in the hearts of so many, especially at this sad time.
Thinking of you and Lynsey with heartfelt sadness.
Phyllis and Derek

Alyson. Thank you for your kind words. Tom loved his time at Holland Road and was really sorry to leave. He was an amazing man, always polite, thought of others before himself and was a fighter to the end even when he was so sick. Life without him will be difficult.

Sending condolences to all of you on Tom's passing. I was lucky enough to be one of Tom's students during the early days of Holland Road School and I have many wonderful memories of him as a teacher. When I ran into him on occasion as an adult, he always remembered me and made time to chat. I hope you all find comfort in the words of condolence from all those whose lives Tom enriched.

Condolences on Tom’s passing. I was a student many moons ago at Holland Road. I ran into you both at a bakery in Halifax a couple years ago and was pleased he quickly remembered me. I left a mark in his history pages and he did for me as well. Rest easy Mr Robson.

Dear Barb,
Our thoughts are with you and Tom's extended family at this sad time. We will so miss running into you and Tom at Neptune and sharing our "reviews" of the plays.
Many warm memories tumbled through Susan's mind as she recalled the days in the Halifax County-Bedford School Board, working alongside Tom as two of the pioneers in establishing a Secondary Resource Program. We problem-solved and laughed our way through many challenges. Tom was unfailingly committed to students and impatient with bureaucracy, as he so pointedly reminded us in his obituary.
Our deepest condolences at your loss,
Susan and Don Church

Thank you Susan and Don. Tom loved all aspects of education. He really enjoyed developing new programs and met some great people along the way. Running into you at Neptune so often was a great way to catch up. We were sorry to miss Calendar Girls last year because his cousin Judith lived in that village in Yorkshire where the story began. She became treasurer of the group that created the original calendar.

Tom was such a kind and caring man. I will remember him fondly for his days at both Holland Road Elementary School, and later as principal of Oldfield Consolidated School. I had the pleasure of speaking with him at Halifax’s last Word on the Street. Thinking of you, Barb, as well as his children and extended family. A life well lived!

I have known Barb Robson for 50+ years, a treasured friendship, and I am sad that she has said farewell to her wonderful man. Tom was a good man and a devoted husband to Barb for many years, and I am thankful that he is now at peace. He chose to remain in his own home through his illness as long as possible, with loving family watching over him. In time there will be solace in cherished life memories, but for now Barb and Lynsey deserve a long rest in order to meet the challenges of life going forward. Lots of love, dear old friend!

Jane. I have known you almost as long as I knew Tom. We really enjoyed all our visits to see you in Montreal and various places in Ontario. I loved having Tom at home in the latter stages of his illness. . He may have been an needy patient but he was an easy one because he appreciated everything done for him.
