Dear Rita and Family — On behalf of my Mom, Elizabeth, and I, we write with heavy hearts to learn of Kenny’s passing. You were both the best neighbours on earth at 18A in Truro, and we often talked how lucky Mom was to have you living so close. Kenny is one of the nicest, funniest, friendliest, generous people and we were blessed to have known him. He will be missed greatly and we will always remember both of you fondly in our hearts. Much love to you. (Elizabeth Lewis and Pam Haldane)

When I moved to Sydney River almost twenty years ago I met my wonderful new neighbor, Kenny MacQueen. We became instant friends & I treasure the time I got to spend with him. He taught me how to get rid of dandelions and how to properly shovel snow and rake grass. Kenny had impeccable property and I wanted mine like his so always sought his approval. When he & Rita moved to Truro I was heart broken but we stayed in touch, whenever he was in Sydney he came to visit at my workplace and we always called each other at Christmas. Kenny, I will miss your smile, your jokes and stories but mostly I will miss your friendship. I love you to the moon and back, rest easy my friend. Rita and family my deepest condolences.

Janet, Rita and all the MacQueen families – my deepest sympathies to all of you. It was always a treat to bump into Mr. MacQueen in Truro – usually at the Superstore. There are many fond memories and stories with the Kenny and my grandparents – Alex and Jenny Libbus. I hope your memories give you comfort in the days ahead – they are the keepsakes of the heart. My family remembers Kenny and how kind he was to us whenever we were at Curry’s for a friend or a family wake. He was especially kind and friendly to my Aunt who was always at someone’s wake.
My Aunt ended up with cancer and passed away in 2003, shortly before she passed she was living at her sisters house and Kenny called to see how she was, my Aunt heard that Kenny called and said Judas Priest how many people get a call from Curry’s to find out when i’ll be there.
He was a friendly nice man and I am sure he will be missed by family and friends

Great memories of Kenny’s outgoing and friendly personality. I worked with him at Cape Breton Chrysler in the 1970’s. I swear he knew everyone in Sydney. I echo and agree with my sister Bertilla’s comments above as we had close Family connections in the day. Kenny and Rita were like Uncle and Aunt to our Family. Deepest sympathy to Rita and all the Family and Rest in Peace Kenny.

So very sorry to hear of Kenny’s passing. My sympathies to Rita and family. My parents lived next door to Kenny and Rita through out my childhood and were very close friends. I remember Kenny as being just a really nice man. He taught me how to catch a baseball and I have many memories of the time I spent with him tossing the ball in their yard. May he Rest In Peace.
