It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marie Lynk, on April 27, 2021 in the An Cala Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born September 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Crawley) Beaver of Dominion.
She was a devoted member of Holy Cross Parish where she always found peace.
Marie is survived by daughter Joann McNeil; her four sons, Freeman (Helen), John (Donna), Wayne (Paulette) and Kenny, who provided our mom with constant and loving support.
The love of her life were her seven grandchildren, Brian (Courtney), Kevin (Reni), Diane (Jason), Tara, Chris (Melissa), Amanda (Jason),Tyler (Danielle) and her ten great grandchildren. Marie is also survived by many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Betty Anne and Jean(Frank) and brothers-in-law Eddie (Sara) and Eric. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law and best friend Cecilia Lynk.
In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Freeman Lynk (2003); infant son Robert; son-in-law, George McNeil; sisters Loretta, Helen, Doll, Millie and brother Jackie.
Cremation has taken place.
A visitation for the late Marie Lynk who passed on April 27,2021, will be held at T.J. Tracey’s Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at Holy Cross Parish at 2: 00 p.m., with Father Norman MacPhee presiding. Interment will be held at St. Eugene’s Cemetery, Turnbull St., Dominion.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the An Cala, Palliative Care Unit, C. B. Regional Hospital, Sydney.
At this time the family would like to thank the EHS – Aimee, Amanda and Francine, Dr. McKenzie, Dr. Ernest, Dr. Lange, Dr. Abboud, Dr. D’Intino and all the nursing staff in 4C and the An Cala for their professionalism, sincerity and compassion at this difficult time.
A thank you to our family, friends, and mom’s cherished bingo friends for reaching out to us by phone, cards and lovely gifts of flowers and food. It was greatly appreciated.
