Susan Rick and Family, I’m so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. From the first time we met at the house in Fairview I knew we would be friends and so we were. She said “ you just get me” and so I did. Gerry loved to tell stories about her travels in her younger years. I knew all her friends and family within the first two months. She was quite a gal. A very lucky lady able to stay in her home for many years and still travel to Queensland where she would precede to tell Susan and I how to properly clean the cottage. Gerry lived a long and happy life with a loving family. I throughly enjoyed our time together with my friend Gerry. Darlene Cullen

To Susan, Rick and the Brenton family, Although saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing, I can’t help but think there are a whole lot of heavenly people (my Mom included) who have been waiting a long time for your Mom to join their bridge table! I have so many memories of your Mom from our early cottage days at Queensland...her infectious laughter, stylish swimsuits, great legs, card games, nightly walks to the canteen, trips to the bakery, hikes to the point, bonfires on the beach and so many more. I was saddened to read Gerry’s obituary. Even though our paths have not crossed for years I always admired and was gladdened by her sense of humour and “plunk”. I was wondering how I came to know her and I realized it was through the Trellis cafe (or earlier incarnation) n Hubbards where she was an very enjoyable customer. My sympathies for your loss. My kudos to Gerry who had a life well lived!

Thanks Jackie. Mum played bridge with your Mum Fran and I had the good fortune to take Mum to visit her in her lovely home on several occasions. Mum loved the cinnamon buns you baked at the Trellis, as did we all!

Susan, Rod and families: I was truly saddened to read your mother's obituary online. Some of my fondest memories are of your mother and her sense of fun at the cottage in Queensland for the years we lived across the road in our cottage. Those summers wove themselves into the rich tapestry of my childhood. Please know your mother lives on in many of us who knew her. Peace to you during this sad time.
