Obituary of Gilbert Gillis MacLeod

MacLeod, Gilbert Gillis,92 Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts, that we the family of Gilbert Gillis MacLeod announce his passing at home, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Born in Glace Bay, Gilbert was the son of the late William and Mildred (Peach) MacLeod. Gilbert worked for N.S. Power for 35 years, retiring in 1989. Family was the most important piece of his life. Gilbert loved to travel, notably with his beloved wife Rhoda; they both looked forward to the warmer weather, so they could set off and enjoy their camping trips together. Gilbert was also an avid bowler. Grampy was a quiet, kind, and unassuming soul, and was loved immensely by his children and grandchildren, he will be missed significantly. Gilbert is survived by his wife Rhoda; Daughters: Donna Leigh (David) Skinner and Karen (Charles)Cuzner; Brother: Jerry (Doreen); Sisters: Shirley Ferguson (Late, Eddie), and Valerie Carlson (Darrell). He is also survived by grandchildren: Devin Skinner (Jen), Jeff Cuzner (Tara), Leigh Anne Cuzner McNeil (Cal) and Tyler Cuzner (Laurel); as well as 6 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Gilbert was predeceased by, Sisters; Anita and Geraldine: Brothers; Duane, Billy, and Gary. As per Gilbert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a future date. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.J.
