It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Muriel Corbett on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Pius and Elizabeth Corbett.
Muriel was a resident of the MacDonald Complex for over 20 years, she made numerous friends and volunteered her time for many occasions that were held there. In her younger years, Muriel enjoyed a good game of darts. She will be missed.
Muriel is survived by her son, Ernest Bagnell (Tanya McNeil),Glace Bay; her four precious grandchildren, Marcus, Brandon, Gage and Jayden. She is also survived by her brother, Greg (Mary) Corbett, Thompson, Manitoba; sisters, Loretta (Kenneth)Munroe, Frances Corbett, both of Dominion, Geraldine (Joe) Williams, Sydney Mines, Valerie (Jim) Calhoun, Ontario, Florence Peach, Sydney, Colette (Dave) Turner, Louisbourg; sister-in-law, Carlotta Corbett, Sydney Mines as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Bagnell; brothers, James, Robert , Pius ‘Tommy’ and Kenneth; sisters, Lillian Usher, Joyce Clarke, Marion Braganaza and Evangeline Pasher.
The family would like to thank the Residents of the MacDonald Complex, the staff at Victoria Haven Nursing Home and the doctors and nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for all your care given to Muriel over the years.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to T.J. Tracey and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 am follow by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating.
Burial to take place in St. Eugene's Cemetery, Dominion.
