It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our father, Bernard Joseph Forrest on January 31, 2021. Born on April 21, 1942 in Halifax Bernie was the son of the late; Elioza (Bouffard) Forest & Alpide Forest of, i’les-de-la Madeleine. Bernie is survived by his loving partner; Leona (Tremblay) & family He is also survived by his children; David (Shelley), Derek (Lori), Danielle (Josh), and Graham (Cindy); 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren all of whom were the lights of his life; siblings, Archie, George & Carmen (Matte). Bernie was Predeceased by brothers, Joe, Paul, Norman; sisters, Simone (Tainsh) & Lucille (Regimbald) Bernie loved hockey & he was actively involved with Sackville Minor Hockey for years. He volunteered as a coach and was on the executive as the President of Minor Hockey. His passion for the game was legendary & he loved watching his kids and later his grandkids play and spent many years cheering them on. He was also an avid Boston Bruins fan and would argue with anyone who did not agree with him. There was never a lack of rivalry at family gatherings and hockey almost always came up. Bernie also loved to golf and spent many days since his retirement golfing. He worked at Glen Arbour Golf Club for several years which allowed him to spend his days doing what he enjoyed. Bernie spent most of his working years employed with Volvo on the Halifax Waterfront and later in Bayers Lake he retired in 1998 after 25 years of service.
