Obituary of Roy Ward

Roy Ward Dominion It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Roy Ward, aged 67 of Dominion. Roy passed away suddenly January 19, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Alex and Mary Ward of Dominion. Roy was a hard working man; construction was his trade, but he could repair or fix just about anything. As he was fond of reminding us " I'm not the best, but you won't find much better". He also loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Ward (MacNeil) and 2 daughters Tammy Ward (Frank Mercuri) and Donna (Brian) McMahon. He will be sadly missed by his 4 grandchildren Phineaus and Aurora (mom Marnie) and Joshua and Julia, as well as his loving sister Delores (Warnie) McComber Roy is predeceased by his son & friend Fabian. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. (902)849-4199. A memorial service for Roy and Fabe Ward will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00 am with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Cemetery. There will be refreshments at 408 Mitchell Ave., Dominion following the burial, all are welcome. Due to Covid-19 restrictions are to be followed, social distancing and masks are mandatory.
