Obituary of Linda MacNeil

Linda Noreen MacNeil Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we, the family announce the passing of Linda MacNeil, age 73, on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at the Glace Bay Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Murray) Gilmet. Linda was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family and friends. Linda is survived by her loving sons, Alex MacNeil, Glace Bay and Stephen (Megan) MacNeil, Alberta, her three precious grandchildren, Adam, Brent and Cayla. She is also survived by her brothers, Calvin (Bernadette), Martin(Shirley), and Blaise( Karen), as well as several nieces, nephews and many close friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Sandy MacNeil, brothers, George and Wendell Gilmet. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wallace Rd, Glace Bay. Donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the CAPE Society, 40 Lower McLean St., Glace Bay, NS B1A 2K7.
