Obituary of Valerie Boozan

Valerie Jean Boozan Glace Bay It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Valerie Boozan, age 63 at the Valley Regional Hospital on December 29, 2020. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Mary O'Handley and the late James 'Jimmy' O'Handley. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren. Besides her mother, Mary; Valerie is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 39 years, Carey Boozan; her children, who were her pride and joy Carey (Kaitlyn) Boozan and Whitney Boozan (Daniel Landry); her two beautiful grandchildren, Beau Landry and Cavan Boozan, mother-in-law, Eleanor Boozan. Valerie is also survived by her brothers, Michael and Allan (Thelma); sisters, Gwen (Dougie), Donna, Jen (Laurie), Marion (Dennis) and Elaine as well as many nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly. Cremation has taken place. As per Valerie's wishes there will be no services. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice. The family would like to thank the 911 dispatcher, the First Responders, the doctors and nurses at the Valley Regional Hospital for all their kindness and support. It will never be forgotten.
