Obituary of Dana King

Dana Joseph King Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Dana Joseph King, age 43, on December 23, 2020. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Arthur “Teddy’ and Lynda (Nearing) King. Dana wasa lobster fisherman by trade which he enjoyed every moment on the boat with his father. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, camping, a good bon fire, BBQ and spending time with his family and friends. Dana is survived by his wife, Lesley Donovan, her children, Courtney and Taylor; their children, Rory and Jase; his daughter Talia, Alberta, whom he loved and adored; his brother and best friend Christopher King, fur buddy T-Bone who predeceased him. He is also survived by his grandfather Freddy King, uncles Brian (Cathy) King, Glace Bay, Leonard Nearing, Alberta, Russell (Florence) Nearing, Glace Bay; aunts, Doris (Danny) Boutilier, Glace Bay, Cathie King and Rose King both of Glace Bay, as well as many cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Kathleen King, Russell and Dolores Nearing; uncle Timmy King; aunts, Patricia Nearing and Sheri Nearing. Cremation has taken place. A private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mental Health or charity of one’s choice. COVID -19 Regulations are to be followed, social distancing and masks are mandatory.
