Bradley Reid Dominion It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Bradley Reid, of Dominion. Born and raised in Dominion, he was the son of Murdena (Reid) Young and stepfather Jackie Young, NB. Brad will be mostly remembered as “the pizza guy” and was well known for making the best pizzas on Cape Breton Island. For many years, he was the owner/operator of Sonny’s Pizza and Brad’s Pizza, Reserve Mines, where he lived and raised his family. Retiring from the pizza business he then took employment with Watt-Air which enabled him to travel to the Philippines and throughout the U.S. During his travels he was able to meet his idol, Willie Nelson. Brad was an avid hockey fan and would proudly cheer on his favorite team, the Chicago Blackhawks. Brad was happiest when he was enjoying the outdoors being in touch with nature, hunting, fishing and just walking in the woods. He loved nothing better than sitting back with a beer or a cup of tea, telling stories of his travels, discussing politics or the latest news events. He was a jokester by heart with a keen wit. He especially loved joking with his grandkids and had a special nickname for each of them. Brad is survived by his best friend, Deborah (Cox) Reid, whom he resided with; son, Clinton (Danielle) Reid, Glace Bay, daughters, Ashley (Bruce) Strong, Holly (Matt) Reid, both of Dominion; his loving and loyal companion, his dog, Sophie; step brother, Shannon Young, step sisters, Jackie (Young) Courtice, Kim (Young) Ross and families; brothers-in-law, William (Junior) Cox, sister in life, Donna (Reid) Thomas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gracie, Nicholas and Joshua Strong, who he lovingly and proudly adored. Also surviving are numerous cousins, whom he had shared special bonds and friendships with, aunts Corinne Tutty and Rosemary Reid, and many friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Joe and Dolly Reid, who raised him from a very young age, father and mother-in-law, William and Penelope (Currie) Cox, and his uncles, Sonny, Alvin, Lawrence, Clayton, Ephie and aunts Arlene and Mary. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 from 12- 2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ruby Carter officiating at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199. Interment to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Wallace’s Road, Glace Bay.
