Dear Heather , Abbey and Eric my deepest symapthy . Keith was one of kind in a great way . He was very animated, funny , hyper and a wealth of knowledge. He was just a great person to be around . He was my captain at cbcf where he was great at his job . He was fair but firm . I have a lot of respect for Keith. He always spoken highly of you all and told many many stories most include one or all of you. May you have comfort in that fact that you had such a great Husband/Dad in your life . There is nothing he would not do for you . It is a true blessing to have known Keith. I would say Rest In Peace but we all know Keith is too hyper so Keith tell your stories and catch up with love ones. Heather ,Abbey and Eric your in my thoughts and prayers. Bonnie Ferguson

Heather, Abby and Eric:
Please accept my sincere sympathies on Keith’s passing. It was with great sadness that I learn the sad news.
I worked with Keith for several years from his venture to Cape Breton to open and head up the Detention Centre and then when it was moved to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre.
We had many conversations and deep discussions over the years. When I moved to Staff Training, we worked together when setting the training schedule for his staff. Keith shared the joy of the birth of both children with pictures of wonderful mile stones. Keith was so proud of you Heather and your children. You truly were the lights of his eye and the beat of his heart. I will cherish those wonderful memories. I smile when I think of him cooking when we were meeting in Shelburne.
Wishing you all the very best during this difficult time. Gather strength from family, friends and your memories of your lives with Keith. Hugs to all of you.

My deepest condolences to Heather, children, family, friends and colleagues. I first met Keith 28 years ago, working with him at the CB Young Offender Detention Centre in Glace Bay, from when the doors first opened. It was a special time in all our lives, as we were all early in our careers. I had never met anyone like Keith, as he was one in a million, and I'm truly grateful we became friends, and then so glad to meet up again many years later when I came to work at the Cape Breton Correctional Facility. He was passionate, had a big heart, made a difference in people's lives because he was fair, honest and caring, and he will always have a special place in my heart! Patricia Bates MacDonald, or just "Bates"!

Ron and I were very saddened to hear of Keith's passing.
We knew him at Waterville and were able to keep in contact with him throughout the years, after his move to Cape Breton, when we visited students. He had kept his sense of fairness but also his sense of humor.
Our sincerest sympathy to his Mom, Mary, with who I worked many years ago. As well, as his wife and children, we hope that eventually your tears will be replaced by smiles and laugher at the memories.

Heather, Abby and Eric, our sincerest condolences on the loss of Keith. He was truly one of a kind, genuine and had so much love for you all. I met Keith when I was doing a placement through CBU, at the young offender detention centre in Glace Bay. It was 1999 and everyone was preparing for Y2K. Well no-one prepared as much as Keith!. He would tell me he had a place to take you should Armageddon hit lol and he would take in what I called space food, you know the kind you just add water and it turned into ground beef, for me to try. He was prepared for anything! lol. I hope you find comfort in the wonderful memories and happy times and from the outpouring of love for Keith
Bless you all
Kamy, Blair, Elizabeth, Emily, and Annalese
