Obituary of Florence Diane Ford

Florence ‘Girlie’ Ford Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Florence Diane ‘Girlie’ Ford at home on December 17, 2020 at the age of 74 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Croney) Ingraham. Florence enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Girlie loved to spend hours knitting with her sister Shirley. She also loved her fur baby Zoey. Girlie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Hoyles Ford; her son George Ford; daughter Rose Ford (Harold), Melinda Gaigneur, who was a like a daughter; her five wonderful grandchildren, Justin, Samantha, Kevin, George and Hoyles; her precious great grandchildren, Bentley, Kache, Phoebe, Mira, Kenley, Zeke and Demien. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley; brothers Leonard (Tracey), Keith, Kevin (Lorraine); brothers and sisters in law; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley Delores Ford; sisters, Eleanor and Selena, brothers, William ’Sonny’ and Gerald. Cremation has taken place. A private family Service will be held at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay.(902-849-4199) Due to COVID -19, social distancing and masks are mandatory.
