John “Glen” Richards Sr., 55 Glace Bay It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother and uncle John Glen Richards on November 28, 2020 at home, at the age of 55. In his early years Glen was a back yard mechanic who could fix just about anything. He could play any instrument he touched, with his passion being guitar. He had an amazing voice that could belt out any country song on any given day. Glen played in many bands as the lead singer; he went on to record a cassette tape with Prime Studio having a #1 song written and sang by Glen, “Say that you’ll be mine”. He could be found anytime of the year fishing and hunting, as he loved time spent outdoors. When they were younger, camping out Mira with his family every summer was what he enjoyed. Most importantly, Glen’s pride came from being a Dad of four; and then being blessed with seven grandchildren. Surviving are sons,Travis Yates, Glace Bay, John Glen Jr. (Breaghanna) Glace Bay, Douglas (Hailey) Halifax, and daughter Ashley Strongman (Rem) Black Brook; grandchildren, Chase, Kali, Landon, Lucas, Grayson, Sophia and Gemma; brothers and best friends Kevin Richards,Sydney, Roy Richards,Glace Bay; sisters, Cheryl (Jim Davis),Halifax and Tania Richards (David) Glace Bay. John is also survived by three nieces and three nephews. Glen is predeceased by parents Roy Sr. and Betty (Parsons) Richards. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of T.J.
