It is with great sadness that the family of William (Bill) Frederick Delaney, age 59 of Halifax, announce the passing of their dear brother on July 26th, 2018 at home, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late James and Emma Delaney (Warnell). Bill worked for the Halifax Shopping Centre for 40 years providing maintenance services. He loved his job which became like a second home to him, and his co-workers became dear friends. A well-liked man, he was known as a gentle, humble, honest, and trusting friend to everyone. Bill is lovingly remembered by brothers Philip, Ronald, and Bernie (Madelaine Martell) all of Halifax; sisters Carol and Judy of Halifax, and Darlene (Dale Beaver) of Montreal; his Aunt Marion Warnell of Toronto; as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Beside his parents, Bill was predeceased by paternal grandparents Gerald and Mary Elizabeth (Corbett) Delaney; maternal grandparents Seymour Richard and Martha Newcombe (Benight) Warnell; brothers Baby Gordon, Joe, and Lloyd; as well as sisters Geraldine (Bill Hall), Shirley (Charles Payne), Marion (John Hingley and Fred Gilbert), Patricia, Baby Rosemary, and Brenda Lee. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford. (902-835-4212) As per his wishes, no visitation will be held. A public graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 31st, at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery (585 Sackville Drive, Lr. Sackville). Graveside flowers are welcome, or donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences and sharing of memories can be made by visiting www.tjtracey.com.
