Obituary of Elaine DeYoung

Elaine Louise DeYoung Sydney It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Elaine DeYoung on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Taigh Na Mara, GlaceBay. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Louise (Gabereau) DeYoung. She was raised in Whitney Pier and enjoyed life to the fullest, spending time with her family; playing cards, reading and listening to music. She loved listening to Donnie Campbell on Sunday evenings. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Tonya (Daniel Nagy) Glace Bay; two stepsons, Darrel Leon, Toronto, ON, Robert Leon Jr. Glace Bay; siblings, David (Pauline), Etobicoke, ON, Melvin (Jeannine), Sandra DeYoung, Donna Gabriel, Debi (Raymond) Grace, all of Sydney, as well as many nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Louise DeYoung; husband Robert Leon; sister, Betty Lou. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for Elaine will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 with Fr. Duaine Devereau officiating taking place at TJ.
