Megan Patricia “Miggie” Kazamel Glace Bay, N.S It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Megan ‘Miggie’ Kazamel. Miggie, age 93, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She was born July 01,1927, in Glace Bay, N.S. to William and Annie (Miles) Phalen. Miggie was a special Mom, she was the glue that held us together and our hero continuously there for all of us. While she had a full time job as a Mom and Grandmother she still found time to work as the Supervisor of the Glace Bay Branch of the Halifax Herald for many years. The accomplishment Mom was most proud of was her family. In her younger years, she and Dad were both avid skaters and skated regularly in all the local arenas. Mom’s favorite pass times were knitting, doing her daily crossword puzzles and reading. It was common for her to finish reading a book in 2-3 days. She is survived by five children, Robert (Anna Lee) Kazamel, Mary (Charlie) MacKinnon, Carol (David) Wadden, Michael (Lois) Kazamel and Margaret (Gary) LeBlanc. Miggie is also survived by fourteen grandchildren Leanne (Craig) Dixon, Halifax, Susanne (Ryan) Townsend, Halifax, Andrew Kazmel, Halifax, Shauna (Robert) Beresford, Kingston N.S., Andrea (Aaron) Cannon, Enfield, Jonathan (Marlene) MacKinnon, Calgary, Megan (Jason) Eliason, Outlook Saskatchewan, Billy (Jamie) Wadden, Port Hawksbury, Gregor (Miro) Wadden, Ottawa, Adam (Kortnie) Wadden, Halifax, Sheri (Mike) McCoy, Fort Saskatchewan, Jessica Kazamel, Brooklyn, New York, Brent Kazamel, Calgary, Alberta, and Ryan Boone (Joelena Corbett), Glace Bay; three step-grandchildren Angela (Jason Shackelton), Allyson (Tony D’Angelo) and Stephen LeBlanc (Ashley).
