Obituary of Joan Morgan

Joan E. Morgan Sydney/Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Joan Morgan, age 86, on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Seaview Manor. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John and Genevieve McIntosh. Joan was employed at Scotiabank and in her later years worked at the Glace Bay Credit Union until her retirement. For years, she enjoyed travelling with her husband Eldridge to Florida, she loved to spend time with her friends, especially Sharon. Joan is survived by her daughter, Lynn Gillis; granddaughters, Heather and Rita; her three great grandchildren, Kennedy, Hailey and Hudson. She is also survived by her brothers, John (Kathleen) McIntosh and Reg (Bernice) McIntosh; sister, Rosemarie 'Ginger' (the late Joe) Gillis; several nieces and nephews as well as her dear friend Sharon Ashade. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Eldrigde Morgan; her daughter Karen Morgan and sister Charlotte (George) Bessett. At this time, we would like to say thank you to all those involved in Joan's care for the past seven months. Beginning with the EMT’s, VON and Home Care; the staff on 4B and 3A at the CBRH and the staff at Seaview Manor who answered our many phone calls with so much care and compassion. To Dr. Glenn Worth, for caring for Joan for 26 years; Pat, Frank and Margaret on Raoul Lane, for all you did for her. We sincerely thank you. The Family. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid -19, there will be a private family service at a later date with a burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
