Obituary of Jana Louise Pepper-Ashley

Pepper Ashley, Jana Louise- 56 passed away Nov. 2, 2020 at the QEII Hospital in Halifax after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 9, 1963 in Windsor N.S. she was the daughter of the late Victor George and Nina M. (Hunter) Pepper. We deeply grieve her loss and will miss her immensely.
Most of Jana’s career was spent working in the retail and service industry, including Atlantic Custom Brokers, Giant Tiger, Walmart, and her last position was with Killam Properties. Jana was a great communicator, kind and friendly person which allowed her to easily bond with people and develop friendships, many of whom supported her during her illness. She was a tremendous storyteller and found humour in most things which was always apparent in her infectious laugh. She had a great love and natural way of connecting with animals, especially her feline friends. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed doing activities such as crafts and painting, as well as taking walks and enjoying nature.
She is survived by her husband Curtis Ashley; sons Christopher and Thomas of Dartmouth; sister Patricia Roberts Eastern Passage; brothers Michael (Judie) Hammonds Plains and Brian (Bobbie) Hubbards. Also mourned by her nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother John (Jack) Pepper. Cremation has been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Cresent, Halifax. A private memorial service will be held at later date. Donations can be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society and SPCA.
