It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy Maxwell MacDonald on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 at the age of 79. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Dad was employed with DEVCO for 30 years working mostly at No. 26 Colliery. He will always be remembered for his love of telling stories and his great sense of humor even right up to the end.
He was the son of the late Rankin and Hazel (Kelloway) MacDonald. He is survived by the love of his life Mary (McKay) MacDonald of 55 years; son Jim (Denise) and daughters Ronalda (Richard) and Carol (Bobby) with whom he resided; grandchildren Renee, Ryan, Colin, Josh, Logan, Kaitlynn and Shelby; twin sister Yvonne, Melba, and brother Eldon (Cathy) and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter Mary in infancy and a son Joey and daughter-in-law Janice; brothers Bryson, Garfield and sister Bernice.

In following Dad’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve Street, Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199)
