Obituary of Milford Findley

Halifax. Born on February 20, 1932 passed away on October 30, 2020. It is with great sadness we the chosen family of Milford announce his passing at the age 88. Milford passed away peacefully with his common law partner Joyce by his side at the QEII Victoria General Site Palliative Care unit. Born in Sambro, where he lived and spent much of his life as a fisherman, before moving to Spryfield, and then Lower Sackville, where he resided until his death. Milford Loved to dance and fish. He and Joyce spent many years dancing at any Church hall, Legion, or The Newfoundland Club. They could be found dancing the afternoon or night away. He was never without a dance partner on the floor. You could also find him at their camp in Noel, which was his favorite spot in the world. You could find him working on one project or another and then watching the tide so they could go fishing. Blackie had many friends who will miss him dearly He is survived by his Common Law Partner, Joyce Lane (Marriott); and her Family, Jim Lane (Sherry), Wendy Lane (Greg), Joyce Lamb (Doug); and their children and Grandchildren. He was predeceased by his Parents, the late Albert & Myrtle Findley (Zinck); his brother, Weldon Findley, all of Sambro. A special mention to the apple of his eye great granddaughter Clara, who adored him & will miss him deeply.
