Obituary of Monie MacDonald

Simone MacDonald Moncton/Formerly Dominion We regret to announce the death of our mother, sister and aunt, Simone 'Monie' MacDonald, age 71 of Moncton, New Brunswick who passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Selina O'Neil. Monie worked for many years in the admissions office at Saint Joseph's Hospital and later she was employed with Mac's Video. She is survived by her loving daughter, Margaret Ann, Moncton,NB; as well as her daughters by affection, Kelly (Derrick) Hayes and Mary Beth (Chris) Lantz. She was very attached to her grandnieces and nephew, Selina Lantz, Kaitlynn and James Hayes. She has two attentive and loving nephews in Russell (Angela) Gouthro and Donnie (Trina) Gouthro. Left to mourn are her sisters Dianne O'Neil and Veronica (Hec) Gouthro; nephew Sandy (Amanda) O'Neil and niece Megan (Shaun) O'Neil. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Keith MacDonald and brother Alex O'Neil. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will take place at 11: 00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Internment to follow. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, NS Lung Association or a charity of one's choice.
