Obituary of John Charles Bobbitt

Age 78, of Halifax. Passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday, October 22, 2020. He was born in Halifax, on March 14, 1942. He grew up an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, as well as spending time in his garden. An electrician by trade, John joined the union in 1967 and retired in 2003. He was Vice President of the Executive Board of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 625. He is survived by his loving children Tina and Terry (Shawna), and their mother Diane; siblings, Joan, Raymond, Victor, Faye, and Terry; his half-siblings, Diane, Harold, Janet, David and Linda. John was predeceased by his parents, Ivan Bobbitt and Lena Landry; as well as his brothers, Wally and Albert; and his partner of many years, Marilyn. The family would sincerely like to thank the staff and caregivers at Northwood Ivany Place in Bedford where John lived out his last days. There will be no service in keeping with John’s wishes. Those who wish to pay their respects should raise a glass in John’s honour with their family and friends.
