We first met Johnny back in the drag racing days at Maitland in the early sixties. He and Jimmie Millet were the "Cluster Busters". Over the years we would often meet up at different car events. He was a very friendly and charming man.
Sorry for your loss Debbie and family

Brenda, Russ and Charlotte, Debbie, Heather and families, we'll hold you in our thoughts and prayers. Ours is a heartfelt loss and difficult to express. We have wonderful memories from a relationship that goes back over sixty years. As members of the Cluster Busters, all of us shared a special bond. Our many trips (adventures) to drag racing venues, laying under wounded race cars, or building our varied "projects", provide a wealth of cherished memories. It meant so much to all of us over the past few years, when Bobby (Pottie) would bring John to the race track to join Greg and me, and we could 'reminisce' in the pits. Bedford has lost its "Oldest Teenager" as we lovingly referred to Johnny. Rest in peace dear friend, we will never forget the skills you taught us, or the help you so willingly gave. In deepest sympathy, Sam, Dale Elsworth and family

So sad to hear about john's passing. I've known him for many years as we worked together at the airport as taxi operators. We had many conversations about cars as I am also a car buff. This time is difficult for everyone. Thank you for a chance to say farewell. God bless. Tony car 050.

John first entered our lives when he dropped into the ProTech shop on Rocky Lake Drive. He soon became a regular visitor and a great friend to Anthony, Adam and Torque. Once we had a cottage on South Loon Lake, he and Fergus would hop on the four wheeler and leave the camp on Lemmon Hill, and drop in for cookies and tea. When no longer able to drive himself, his good friend Doug Grace would chauffeur John out to see us at least once a year. During his final visit to Our place, not to be outdone by Doug’s guitar and singing, John broke out his harmonica and played us a tune.
John was a dear, sweet man that always held a special spot in our hearts and he will be dearly missed. God speed, John xxoo

As a young man I worked with John at Scotia Chev-Olds on Robie Street in the mid 1970's. It was quite a different time. He had a bit of a swagger, usually a smile, and seemed a happy, larger than life personality.
