Obituary of Darlene Mary Lagatdu (Young)

Age 57, passed away on October 9th, 2020 at the QEII - Halifax Infirmary. Darlene was born in Cape St. George, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Hayward Lagatdu and Helen Christen. Darlene will be forever remembered and loved by her lifetime partner of 41 years, Joseph Young. She is survived by her brother; Henry (Tanya) Halifax, sister; Penny (Vince) Lourdes, NL and large circle of nieces, nephews and friends as well as her brother in laws; Nishie (Victoria)Young, NL, Scott (Mary) Young, NB, Chris (Lisa) Young, NL, Mother in law Veronica Young, NL. Darlene was predeceased by brother; Clarence, sisters; Eileen and Wanita. Darlene started her career as a hotel maid, then operated Darlene’s housekeeping services for years until her sickness caused her to retire just over 2 years ago. Her joys were tv bingo, the Price is Right, Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. She had a special place in hear heart for her cat Daisy who was always a source of comfort. Cremation has taken place; Darlene will stay with Joe until his death and they will both be buried together in NL. A big thank you to the staff of the QEII, Halifax Infirmary for the care and compassion they showed Darlene and especially her doctor Magnus Macleod.
