Obituary of Kenneth Wilfred Rhys

Age 67, Passed away peacefully at home September 29, 2020. Born October 26, 1952 in Halifax, he was a son of the late Anthony and Audrey (Crawford) Rhys. Ken worked as a courier for 25 years with Action Delivery which later became Dynamex Courier. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling in his youth. He was a funny, quick-witted man who loved to garden and play cards during his pastime. Ken also enjoyed the companionship of the family dogs and his beloved cat, Shadow. Ken was predeceased by his loving wife, Sheila (Roope) Rhys. He is deeply loved and missed by his children, Kelly (Robert), Audra (Trevor) and Michael (Mandy); brother, Aubrey (Bonnie) Rhys; sister, Carol (Gordon) Campbell; mother and father-in-law, John and Ruth (Murley) Roope; sisters-in-law, Joanne Longmire (Tom) and Stephanie Roope (Tim). Ken loved spending time with his grandchildren - Logan, Keira, Kaitlyn, Ronan and Sophia. Ken also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews - Kim, Melissa, Amanda, Allyson, Adam, Bryan and Brooklynn. He will also be dearly missed by the Crawford, Keating and Roope families. Cremation has been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Digby.
