Robert Joseph McLean Reserve Mines We the family of Robert Joseph McLean, 82, of Reserve Mines, are saddened to announce his passing on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Robert was the son of the late Hector and Jennie (MacDonald) McLean. Throughout the years Robert was a very proud and dedicated Cub Scout Leader. He worked for a number of years with Veteran Affairs and then decided to further his education and graduated with his LPN’s, he was employed at Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, where he retired in 2002. Robert is survived by a Brother Wayne (Colleen); Sister Margaret Penney and Sister-in-law Martha McLean; nieces and nephews Angela, Brenda, Tanya, Wendy, Michael, Todd and Jason; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his Brothers’ Simon, Michael in infancy; and Sister Sarah in infancy. At this time the family would like to thank the staff on 3rd West at the Glace Bay Hospital; Staff on the ICU Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital; New Waterford Homecare; neighbor Helen Strong; and a very special thank you to Wendy McLean. A Memorial Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Parish, Reserve Mines, on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 11 a.m., with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, (902) 849-4199. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions the public is asked to stay in their vehicles until the family are in their seats, social distancing is required. Masks are mandatory.
