Obituary of George Andison Mills
Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George Andison Mills, age 72, of Hatchet Lake, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving family, his wife Lynda Noble, his daughter Elyse, his son Gavin, and his daughter-in-law, Natasha Dowding.
He will be fondly remembered as a master gardener, film buff, crossword puzzler, craftsman, guitar player, music aficionado, problem solver and fountain of knowledge. George, a.k.a. the Man, the Myth, the Legend.
He was always true to himself, a skilled contrarian, a world issues pundit, and always maintained his quick wit and dry sense of humour. He was most content surrounded by nature, observing and learning about the connections between plants and animals. He appreciated solitude and quiet reflection, and was satisfied with a simple life.
He will also be dearly missed by his sisters Sandra, Pat and Jennifer and their families, son-in-law Emiel, Mary-Anne, Bob, Sophie, Deanna, Ian, Georgia, Ben, Barb, Ron, Vicki, Ron, Annie, and his long-time friends from the Prospect community.
His family would like to extend their gratitude to the Palliative Care team (Cindy and Devon), Closing the Gap Healthcare (Charmaleen, Marissa and team), and VON (Alisha, Ashley and team).
In keeping with George’s wishes, a quiet, natural burial was held and a tree will be planted in his honour. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a tree planted in his memory
