Glenn Bearnes
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Glenn Charles Bearnes, 59, at the QEII on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 with his family by his side. He is the son of Janet Bearnes and the late John Bearnes.
Glenn was known for his contagious smile and free spirit. Glenn loved fishing in various spots throughout Cape Breton and socializing with his friends over a game of pool. He looked forward to watching sports, above all his favourite team, the Toronto Raptors. But, his main joy was sightseeing the island on his motorcycle.
He is survived by his five brothers; Jack (Mary), Bruce (Annabeth), Kevin (Marguerite), Gary, Donald, and his sister Sharon (Wayne) MacDonald. Although he had no children, he was an amazing uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many close “buddies.”
Glenn is predeceased by his father John and sister Carol Ann.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 19 at 2 p.m., at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists 370 Reserve Street, Glace Bay (902)849-4199. All are welcome to join us. Immediately following the service will be a final farewell ride for Glenn, enroute to Calvary Cemetery, Bridgeport.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bikers Down Society, The Cape Breton Regional Hospital, or QEII ICU, Halifax.
A very special thank you to the First Responders, Physicians and Nurses at Cape Breton Regional Hospital ER Department, as well as the QEII ICU, Halifax.

“My time has come to take my last ride,
So I’ll enjoy every mile
And you bet it will be with a smile.”
