Obituary of Thomas Joseph Hennessey

HENNESSEY, Thomas Joseph - Age 84 of Halifax, passed away peacefully on Friday July 17, 2020 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Grand Falls, NFLD, he was the son of the late Leo and Gertrude (Edwards) Hennessey. Thomas worked as an accountant for many years. He also had a love for Curling and playing Golf with his friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mildred (March) Hennessey; 2 brothers, Paul and Leo Hennessey; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Alphonse (Sheila) Hennessey, Edward (Dolorosa) Hennessey, and Allan (Judy) Hennessey; and sister, Jean (Larry) Perrin. In keeping with Mildred’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral held at this time, due to COVID. A funeral service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society and the Canadian Cancer Society. A special thank you to Dr. Bussey and Dr. Lam, and the nurses on 8.4 QEII Infirmary, as well as the staff of the Emergency Dept., for their wonderful care.
