Margaret Rose ‘Ducker’ McComber It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Rose McComber on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Glace Bay Hospital, with her loving son by her side. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Tena Acker. Rose also known as Ducker was employed as a cleaner with the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board until her retirement. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed spending time with her family. Rose is survived by her son Dwayne McComber (Debbie),Sydney; brothers, Pat Acker, Tanglewood, Allan Acker, Glace Bay, and David Acker, BC. She is also survived by her special niece Ashley Howley, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, Tena, Rose was predeceased by stepfather, Martin Tracey; husband of 50 years, Wayne McComber; sisters, Florence ‘Flo’ MacPherson and Linda Howley. The family would like to thank the staff on 4C at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital,Taigh Na Mara, and Glace Bay Hospital for the care given to Rose over the years. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2020 in Greenwood Cemetery, Highland St., with Farther Norman MacPhee presiding.
