Obituary of G. Irving Fancy

Glenford Irving Fancy, age 71, of Halifax/Westfield passed away on Friday June 26th, 2020 in his wife’s loving arms at the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax. Born in Westfield, Queens County, N.S. he was the son of Clifford and Beulah (Frail) Fancy. Irving worked in the Insurance Industry, retiring from Economical Insurance. He enjoyed genealogy, spending time at the camp with his friends and, most importantly his family, but oh he didn’t like using the telephone. His favorite song was " Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum. He showed respect to everyone. He was a kind and compassionate man. He had a "HEART OF GOLD" He is survived by his wife Elaine (Dorrington); brother, Everett (Lillian); Sisters Pauline (Avery), Christine (Dwight); nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Elva, Odessa, Eleanor, Amy, Joan, Jean, Geraldine; brothers, Elbert, Avery, Basil, Borden, Eugene and in infancy Barry. A private family burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Westfield at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation or charity of choice.
