Obituary of Richard McKay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard E. McKay, age 63, of Greenfield, Nova Scotia on June 13th, 2020 at 2:15am at the QEII- Victoria General Site. Born in Halifax, Richard was the son of Donald McKay & Shirley Chapman. Rick worked for Armour Transport for several years, he enjoyed fishing and loved to BBQ for family and friends. Richard will be greatly missed and never forgotten by his wife of 13 years, Phyllis Fiander-McKay; son, Jeffrey McKay (Mirelle); stepson, Joey Fiander (Tara); daughter, Christa McKay (Dana); brothers, Scott & Dale McKay and his 9 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and in infancy his sister Carolanne. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (Atlantic Region). A special thank you to all the nurses & doctors of the 8th floor, V.G. for their kind, loving and professional care. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Rick's request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
