It is with heavy hearts that the family of John David Petrie announce his passing on June 8th at the QEII. John was predeceased by his loving wife Brenda Joyce in 1995, his parents Doris & Herald Petrie; his adoptive parents, Frank & Martha Petrie and his sister Maureen.

John was an avid weightlifter and “Elvis” fan. He was employed by the Halifax shipyard for over 42 years. He was always there for his family and friends.

John will be greatly missed and never forgotten by his children; Camilla (Ronald Dunphy), Jason (Tiffany); brother, Carl; sisters, Sheila, Margaret & Kathleen; grandchildren, Bradley, Cassandra (Andrew Clarke), Johnny and his great- grandchildren, Lincoln and William and several other family members.

A celebration of life will be held on August 7, 2021 at 11am from the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
