It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and uncle, Eldon Clements, age 85, on Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Eldon went home to be with the lord after a brief illness, he passed away at Cape Breton Regional Hospital (Palliative Care), Sydney.
Eldon was the son of the late Fred and Iris (Nearing) Clements of Port Morien.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving Wife Barbara (Shibinette) Reserve Mines; Daughter, Tracey (Johnny) Port Morien; Sons, Darryl(Michele) Mantorville, MN, Kevin (Trina)Vancouver, Stepsons, Derek (Reserve Mines), Steven (Michelle) Glace Bay; Step-daughter, Lori (Ross) New Hampshire. He had eleven Grandchildren and one Great grandchild; Brother, Walter (Joan); Sisters Francis, Betty, Elaine, Karen (Lloyd), Julie, Linda (Gord), Kay (Michael); Sister- in- law, Judy Clements. Many nieces and nephews whom he loved, and were loved.
Eldon was an Iron Worker by trade. He spent his life in construction and forged many lifelong friendships. Eldon was a curseista, and a man of strong and deep faith. He was confident in, and trusted the promises of God. Skating and dancing were his passions and later in life he turned his hand to Wood Working, a craft that he excelled in. Many people are lucky enough to be in the possession of one of his creations.
Besides his parents Eldon was pre-deceased by his first Wife Patricia (Wadden) Port Morien, as well as his Parents-in-law, Ethel and Adrian Wadden; Brothers, Charlie(Buddy)( Murdena), Freddy, Wayne; Sisters, Joan(John Metcalf), Yvonne( Louie Virag); Brothers- in-law, Roger Loiseau, Michael MacDonald, Bobby Grant, Gaffy O’Neil, Don St. Jules, Albert Ranson.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and guidance of T.J Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. (902) 849-4199.
A family gathering will be held Friday June 12, 2020 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Morien. COVID 19 Guidelines to be followed.
