Obituary of Bill Meikle

William “Bill” James Meikle Sydney It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Meikle on June 5, 2020 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility Sydney. Born in Manitoba, he was the son of the late Jack and Edna Meikle, Flin Flon, Manitoba. A career service man, serving 23 years in the Canadian Air Force, he was the Aro Engine Technician on the Snow Birds and enjoyed teaching his trade. After retiring from the Air Forces he was employed with the CISS in Toronto, then onto the commissioner for Island Well Drillers as well as two different call centers. After four retirements, he settled into his gardening on Kytes Hill Drive, always outside, always busy and always willing to help anyone in need and lend out his beloved gadgets or tools. Bill is survived by the love of his life Resa (Lacey) Bird; children, Brian and Kathy, MB., Calvin, BC, and Sherri Lyn,SK; brother, Hugh Meikle,Flin FLon; sisters, Adele and Grace, Flin Flon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Edna and Jack, he was predeceased by his brother,John and special stepson, Dana. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral services as per Bill’s wishes.
