Obituary of Joan Eileen Edmonds

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our Mother, Joan Eileen Edmonds (nee Zinck) at Dartmouth General on Wednesday after a short illness. She, along with her late husband, Bill, had been residents at Parkland-at-the-Lakes until his passing last Nov, in their 63rd year of marriage. She remained there and under the care of their exceptional staff until her recent transfer to hospital. We will be eternally grateful to the nurses, care-givers and staff in Parkland's memory-care ward for their compassion and care of Joan, particularly during this difficult period of distancing and isolation due to Covid restrictions. They were all angels of mercy. Joan was a refined lady, of perfect manner but of strong opinion, which she was only too pleased to share. She was also the bedrock of her long and happy union with Bill. She is survived by her children, Eva (McFadden) and Mike; siblings, Vanita (Smith) and Aubrey; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by them and her entire extended family, and by her many friends. A celebration of life will be deferred to a future date, when after cremation she will be interred with Bill in Bedford.
