Obituary of Brenda Darroch

Brenda Marie Darroch Glace Bay We, the family of Brenda Marie Darroch, age 61 with heartfelt sorrow wish to announce her passing on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Glace Bay Hospital, Glace Bay. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Myra (MacIsaac) Darroch. Brenda was raised on Wallace’s Road by her grandmother Effie MacIsaac, whom she loved dearly. In her younger years, Brenda was a day care teacher in Ontario and worked later at the Glace Bay Fish Plant until she obtained employment with Victoria Haven Nursing Home, working there more than 25 years. This past winter she worked tirelessly taking care of her husband Jimmy in his battle with cancer. He predeceased her just one week ago. Brenda is survived by her sisters, Wanda Darroch and Debra Darroch; brothers, Keith Rich (Dayle) and Brad Rich as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Jimmy’s family who thought the world of her. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Cancer Center.
