Obituary of Leo Alphonse Doucet

DOUCET, Leo Alphonse – Age 72, of Berwick NS passed away suddenly, at home, May 22, 2020. Born in Clarence Park, Eastern Passage N.S, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Jessie (Hape) Doucet. Leo was a self-employed carpenter. He resided in Fairview for many years. Upon retirement, he relocated to Berwick, N.S. where he enjoyed the country life. Leo loved music and playing guitar. He liked to tinker in his garage and had a passion for old trucks. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ellen (Stewart) Doucet; his son, William Robert Doucet (Tabitha Power); two daughters Ann (Nevin) Slawter and Lisa Doucet (David Baker); Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Mandziuk; great-grandsons, Noah and Elijah; Three brothers, Paul, (Enfield); John, (Enfield), Tony, (Dartmouth);Four sisters, Virginia Fleet (Ecum Secum), Doris Frank (Bridgewater), Catherine Doucet, (Eastern Passage), Susan (Dale) Faulkner, (Grand Lake); brother-in-law Bill Fitzgerald, (Dartmouth). Leo had many nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Fitzgerald; and grandson David Mandziuk. Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists. In keeping with Leos wishes a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
