Obituary of Alan Bewley Cogan

Alan Bewley Cogan- Age 92 of Halifax, passed away May 3, 2020 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site, from complications after hip surgery. Alan was born in Carlisle, England, 1927. He immigrated to Toronto in 1949. Alan enjoyed a 30-year career with IBM Canada in Toronto, Sydney, Australia and Vancouver, retiring in 1991. Alan and Cecilia spent 13 years of retirement in Lake Chapala, Mexico, returning to Halifax in 2006. Alan was predeceased by his former wife Ruth; sister, Dorothy, and her husband Bramwell Coles, Toronto. Alan is survived by Cecilia his wife of 35 years; children, Mary, Judi, Chris (Ken), Steve (Teresa), David (Lin) and Paul; seven grandchildren; three nephews, Nigel, Neil and Mark Coles, Toronto. A Mass of remembrance is to be held at a later date. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses for their wonderful care.
